NDS Powers New Kabel Deutschland HD Set-top Box
LONDON, UK – November 2, 2011 -NDS today announced that Kabel Deutschland, Germany's largest cable operator, has launched a new HD set-top box (STB) powered by NDS technologies. The new box includes NDS' MediaHighway® STB software, VideoGuard® conditional access, an NDS VOD solution and a customized electronic programme guide (EPG). With this solution, Kabel Deutschland are able to drive High Definition and offer a mass market product that enables customers to access the Kabel Deutschland 'SELECT VIDEO' on demand service, available in a growing number of regions. The new HD STB was launched in early October and is manufactured by Sagemcom.
