Unitymedia to close arenaSAT: Broadcasting of Pay TV channels ends on September 30, 2010arenaSAT subscribers will still be able to use their receivers for watching Free TV

Cologne, June 15, 2010 – Unitymedia has decided to close the satellite platform arenaSAT to fully concentrate on the development of its triple play and next generation TV services via cable. The arenaSAT business operations and thus the broadcasting of the arenaSAT Pay TV packages will be terminated on September 30, 2010. All arenaSAT customers will be informed in writing within the next days.

arenaSAT customers are allowed to keep their receivers, even if they have a rental model provided by arenaSAT. The receiver continues to be fully functional and useable for watching all Free TV channels available unencrypted via ASTRA. This does not require any adjustments by the user.
